Hi! My name is Sarah Sloat and I’m a writer and editor.
I’m interested in unexpected connections, the wonderful, and the weird.
I write about science, health, and technology for publications like The Guardian, Scientific American, The Atlantic, The New York Times, The Daily Beast, Wired, Gothamist, The New Republic, DAME, MIT Technology Review, Popular Science, Hakai Magazine, and NBC.
I’ve also written humor for McSweeney’s and Creem magazine, and performed comedy at Caveat and UCB New York.
Before freelancing, I was a senior editor at Inverse. I’ve also worked extensively as a fact-checker and science consultant, including on Marvel’s The Unstoppable Wasp. Beyond editorial, I’ve done radio work with WNYC.
If you want to work together, or share a joke, email me at sarahsloat9@gmail.
